The National Flag of Pakistan is based on the original flag of the Muslim League, which itself drew inspiration from the flag of the Sultanate of Delhi and the Mughal Empire in India. It was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947, just three days before the independence of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. The Pakistan Flag was designed by Ameer-ud-din Khidwai based on the flag of the All-India Muslim League in 1906.
The national flag of Pakistan is dark green in colour with a white bar, a white crescent in the center and a five-pointed star. The Pakistani flag comprises a dark green field (representing Muslims) with a vertical white stripe in the hoist (left side) (representing non-Muslim minorities).
